Message From The Principal

Dear Franklin Pierce High School Community,

It is with immense joy and gratitude that I step into the role of Principal at Franklin Pierce High School. Many of you already know me well, as I have been a part of this incredible community for several years, serving as the Assistant Principal. My journey with Franklin Pierce High School began as a Resource Special Education teacher at our sister school, Washington High School, back in 2003. I later moved to Franklin Pierce High School, where I taught Social Studies before taking on roles as Dean of Students in 2011 and Assistant Principal in 2014. This community holds a special place in my heart, and I am deeply honored and proud to continue serving you all.

As we embark on the 2023-24 school year, I am inspired by the exceptional diversity and talent that our school encompasses. Each student brings unique strengths and perspectives, and together, we form a rich tapestry of cultures and experiences. It is my unwavering commitment to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where every student feels valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

To achieve this vision, our focus for the upcoming school year will center around two vital priorities:

Enhancing System Efficiency: Our primary goal is to create a safe, positive, and conducive environment for learning. By streamlining our Behavior and Attendance procedures, we will foster a culture of responsibility and accountability, empowering our students to make positive choices and thrive academically. Through a system of targeted supports and interventions, we will ensure that every student receives the assistance they need to overcome challenges and succeed. Additionally, we will celebrate the achievements of our students and staff through frequent and goal-oriented school-wide celebrations, reinforcing a sense of pride and unity within our school community.

Clarifying Instructional Vision and Expectations: We are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for our students. To achieve this, we will focus on Standards-Based Instruction, setting clear learning objectives and transparent expectations. By embracing Universal Design for Learning, we will accommodate diverse learning preferences and ensure that all students can access and engage with the curriculum effectively. Alongside these efforts, we will continue our journey of Culturally Responsive Teaching, integrating diverse perspectives into the classroom, and celebrating the richness of our students' cultural backgrounds.

I firmly believe that the collaboration between the school, parents, and the broader community is fundamental to our success. Together, we can build a nurturing environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility.

As we embark on this journey together, I want to emphasize that my door is always open. I encourage you to reach out to me with your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. Together, let's make Franklin Pierce High School a place where every student can thrive, and their potential knows no bounds.

Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. I am genuinely excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for us. Here's to a remarkable and rewarding 2023-24 school year!
